Daniel and Kristin’s Wedding – Holyoke, CO

We usually ask our clients how and when they met, and when we asked Daniel and Kristin this, we were really surprised to hear that they met in kindergarten! They both grew up in Holyoke, CO living just a couple blocks away from one another, and in 3rd grade they would pretend that they were getting married! They had such a beautiful wedding, full of emotions – and we felt so privileged to meet all their family and friends, and spend this special day with them. So let me tell the rest of their wedding day story with photographs…

Kristin and her mom, I love how many emotional moments there are in a wedding day, each just as special as the next.  Daniel, waiting for his bride… The best man’s daughter thought that because Kristin and Daniel were getting married, she was never going to see them again, she was heart-broken! I think she sobbed through the whole ceremony, poor thing! The pastor accidentally said Kristin’s sister’s name during the ceremony, it turned out to be a great moment of laughter, a nice break from all the tears!  Daniel gave the sweetest, most romantic speech for Kristin, I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house! I bet Kristin will always remember that part of the reception… Dance time!!! Let me tell you, these people could dance! Not the “um, thats awkward and I don’t want to take a picture of you doing that”, kind of dance, but the swing the girl around, fancy foot-work, country line kind of dance! Both Brad and I were really impressed!

Thoughts from the bride and groom -

What was the most fun part of your day? Daniel and I both agree that one of the most fun parts of the day was taking pictures with you guys. It was a blast. The most memorable thing from that day for both Daniel and I was doing our first look. The way you two set it up made it so special to the two of us.

What was your favorite detail? It is hard to for us to pick one detail that was our favorite. We loved all of it together and how it was perfect for the two of us. The shoe shine chair was special to us since that was something my parents bought the first time we went to American Pickers where he proposed. We also loved the cupcakes and the little detail they added to the tables.

What advice would you give other couples planning their wedding? I would definitely tell other couples to make sure they make the day about them. Daniel and I both agree that the day was so special to the two of us because we made it exactly the way we wanted it to be!

What was the funniest moment of your wedding day? The funniest thing was definitely having Pastor call me by my sister’s name during the ceremony. Although it was sort of a relief to have that happen as it allowed to me breath a bit and stop crying… even if it was only for a second!

There wasn’t a thing we would change about our day. Even if things weren’t perfect it was still our day and that’s what made it so special.

If you know Brad, you know that he is NOT the type to get out on the dance floor and show off his stuff. I learned quickly at our wedding where he gets this from, his mom. During their mother and son dance, she tried to pull whoever she could on the dance floor, just so she could not be the center of attention. And I think their song was just over a minute long…Kristin really wanted us to come out on the dance floor, but I told her there was no way Brad would do it, he was just too shy. She said, I know how to make people not shy really quick! Then proceeded to dance with (or really just next to) Brad. It was pretty funny! Here is a pic-I think he is a step closer to getting out there Kristin!!!

Ryan and Linzi’s Wedding – Fort Wayne, IN

Ryan and Linzi were married May 28th, in Fort Wayne, IN. We were so excited to travel back for their wedding, when I met with Linzi to talk about her wedding the first time, we ended up talking for at least two hours – a little bit about her wedding, and a lot more about life! So needless to say, I was really excited to see her wedding day unfold. They were married at an older church, with gorgeous woodwork in the sanctuary. Their reception followed, at Bergstaff – and was an awesome celebration! Ryan and Linzi, we are so happy for you, and are so thankful you chose us to be included on your wedding day!

Thoughts from Ryan and Linzi -

What was the most memorable moment of your day?

Linzi – I have two favorite moments: While we ate dinner at the reception, I remember looking out and seeing everyone we love and seeing all the hard work come together and I will never forget that. It made all the planning worthwhile. Also, I will always remember our first dance because that is when I really got to stop and think about the day and what it meant and what a great man I married.

Ryan - At the end of the reception, Ryan’s requested that they play the song Free Bird. Everyone that was left in the room got in a big circle for the song and then he went around and gave everyone high-fives. It was cool to have every person in the room involved.

What was your favorite detail? Linzi – I loved the flower in my hair and got lots of compliments on it:)

Any advice for future bride/grooms? We thought it was really important to make it OUR day. If there was a tradition we didn’t want to follow we didn’t and we really tried to put our personal touch into different elements of the wedding so that the day felt special and unique. Our advice for future brides and grooms would be to concentrate on what is most important to the two of you and don’t feel pressured to please everyone else. Sit down and talk about what is important when you first get engaged and then stick to it.

Funniest memory from your wedding day? The limo ride from the church to the reception was filled with funny moments and it was the part of the day where we laughed the hardest. It was great to spend that time with our wedding party.

If you could do it all over, would you change anything? We would not change ANYTHING! We really felt that the day turned out perfectly!

Michael and Danielle’s Wedding – South Bend Wedding Photography

We started our 2011 wedding season with Mike and Danielle, and it was a great way to start off the year! It was the first time we had been back to Indiana since moving away, so we were really excited to be back. We made it into South Bend just in time to watch the snow fall, and fall, and fall! By the time we woke up the next morning, there was 25″ of snow on the ground! Even with all the snow, most of Mike and Danielle’s guests made it safely, and they had a wonderful wedding day. From the moment we met them, we could tell that their family and friends meant a lot to them, and that was even more evident in the interactions and relationships we saw play out on their wedding day. Mike and Danielle are such sincere and kind people, and together they make a beautiful couple. Congrats to you both, we wish you the very best!

Eileen - Wow, guys! This wedding is beautiful! Great job!

alexis davis - These photos are GORGEOUS!!!! Absolutley breathtaking.

The cakes were made by my company, Cakewalk, LLC. I would be so grateful if I could use one of your images on my website. We took photos but none of the Corvette cake, and the wedding cake looks so much prettier on-site with the flowers. If you would allow us to use one I would of course give you photo credit. I am on FB also, under Cakewalk LLC.

Thank you!

Alexis

The Toothless Isabella – Children’s Photography Denver CO

My niece Isabella lost one of her top teeth a couple of weeks ago, and the one next to it was loose. My sister and I quickly agreed that when she lost both top teeth, we had to mark this special time with a photo shoot! So when I saw on facebook that Isabella had lost both teeth, I quickly scheduled a shoot for her. It was a little windy outside, so we decided to capture a few shots of Isabella in her room (which made for a great setting, because my sister is a amazing interior decorator!). I decided to do a set in black and white, just for something different. Here are my faves!
